We see it so often, people who meet in the campground and get to know each other over time. A lot of campers make their reservations for the same time each year so they tend to see some of the same people each time they are here. When those people connect, they become real friends who happen to only see each other at the campground.
It’s a lot of fun to watch when they reunite during the summer. They probably haven’t had any communication in the year since they last saw each other but they get reunited like it’s only been days. Pretty soon the campfire is burning, burgers are being cooked, and the friends are sharing a potluck and catching up.
There are many campers who have been friends for decades. Their kids and grandkids have become friends with each other as well. That’s when they become a camping family. Through the years they share in celebrating each others’ joys and giving support for the sorrows.
We become family with our campers, too. We look forward to their return every year and are excited to hear the updates of their lives. We like meeting new babies that have been born and hearing of weddings that have taken place. When one of our camping family falls ill we are genuinely concerned.
Camping offers a host of things that are good for you and we think the relationships you build are among the top of that good-for-you list. We’d love for you to join us here and we look forward to getting to know you.
